The FIFA World Cup 2026 has moved past the group stage and deep into the knockout rounds. The tournament began with 48 teams divided into 12 groups of four, from Group A to Group L. The top two teams in each group plus the eight best third-placed teams advanced to the first-ever Round of 32.

How qualification worked
- The 1st and 2nd teams in each of the 12 groups qualified automatically, with 24 teams in total.
- The 8 best third-placed teams also advanced.
- That created a 32-team knockout stage, starting with the Round of 32.
The tie-breakers were, in order: points, goal difference, goals scored, then head-to-head results between tied teams. The ✓ symbol marks teams that advanced from the group stage. The ✕ symbol marks teams eliminated in the group stage.
